[RESOLVED] srcds.exe - Entry Point Not Found
Wishful Thinking!:
Alright - I didn't think it needed it as I (believe) I ran GE:S server before without Steam installed.
soupcan:
You are mistaken. I run servers without the desktop steam client installed.
Wishful Thinking!:
That's correct, I never needed Steam Client before to run either GE:S or CS:S.
I currently have:
C:/Server
> /SourceEngine (SteamCMD Location)
> /srcds (app 310 download, and batch file goes here)
> /gesource (Mod folder)
Starting the mod from the batch file from inside .../srcds starts the Source Dedicated Server, and the mod folder used is set in the command-line, which is ../gesource. fairly straight forward, just having some errors getting it to start :/
soupcan:
I can't reproduce that exact issue on my end (a new 8.1 VM with everything in those same locations and same startup parameters). You have a unique case that's difficult for me to answer because I cannot reproduce it.
My suggestions are to try starting using with the -console option (the GUI for 2007 has always had issues in my experience) and change the forward slash to a backslash. For example:
--- Code: ---
srcds.exe -console -game ..\gesource +maxplayers 24 +map ge_archives -port 50450
--- End code ---
Also I would recommend limiting the number of players to 16 instead of 24. 16 is already pushing it for most maps, and at this point you're not likely to have that many players anyway.
Wishful Thinking!:
Yeah not much luck on either of those suggestions either :/
I have posted the issue to the Steam Community forums (http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/13/490123938425550188/) - though no replies as of yet.
Various Youtube videos (of similar problems ((srcds - Entry Point Not Found)) point to it being either a missing DLL, old DLL, or a DLL needs to be removed.
I'll be still working towards getting this back online :)
