Someone's not a fan of post-Brosnan Bond
Obvious observation is obvious.
Yet I'm sure your statement will stand forever since so far it's only this one guy after Brosnan. I don't like him, right. But that doesn't mean there won't be another good actor for that role - post-Brosnan, obviously.
A Goldeneye 2? I'd be laughing my ass off. Its just one storyline, You can't create a new storyline from scratch and call it Goldeneye 2, It just won't be Goldeneye.
And of course that stopped them from doing GoldeEye: Rogue Agent. ~

To get seriouse again, i think they'd do what they always do, pretending that the other movie never existed and tell the whole story again.
Hench, look at what they're doing with Spiderman right now.

At least when you look at Spiderman there's a good reason: new cast and new director.
Though I have to agree, that it'd be cool to have the movies follow the canon storyline or create some new events that are considered canon.
Well soon there will be Goldeneye 2 and 3 which will be carbon copies of each other, then 4 will be a reboot of the series called Goldeneye: Modern Espionage. Then in the wake of 4's success, some other studio will make an even crappier fifth game set back in the 90's, like the first three. Then Modern Espionage 2 will come out, and "Bond fans" will rejoice, not realizing that it's a near exact copy of 4.
Or at least that's the kind of crap Activision likes to do with their franchises.
Guide to Activision:
- don't buy >>generic title<< >>insert number here<<
- don't buy games that share a genre with their main cash cows
-> Just buy titles they're unlikely to expand to a series and that they are rather unfamiliar with. If it's expanding another title be very sceptic at least.
