OMG! Is there anything that can't be made on the Source Engine? I won't agree with the whole combining with GE:S thing, but this will be awesome online, especially if you can race online and do deathmatch as well.

I want to see Ultimate Doom: Source.

I want to see Ultimate Doom: Source.

See "Classic Doom 3".

As for MK:S, I've heard about that mod before, In fact, I believe Wake is in the dev. team, Or the BT team. Unsure though...
But if this mod ever sees the light, Its going to be a lot of fun.

EDIT : Woah! They are at 49.4% done! Last time I saw it, I heard they had no programmers left on the team, And it was halted at something like 36%. Sweet.

Cool stuff. Mario Kart DS is filled with snakers and Mario Kart Wii had A LOT of item spam, so if Mario Kart 3DS doesn't get it right then I suppose I have this to look forward to. =P

In my opinion, The last good Mario Kart is Double Dash. I have tried the Wii one and with my cousin and over at my friend's house, And I thought it was not fun at all. That's why we still have our N64 handy. :)

Yeah, I have played and completed Classic Doom 3, I actually started episode 2 myself, made about 5 levels. And yes, Double Dash was my fondest memory of Mario Kart.

A shame.  Instead of making a new iteration of Super Mario Kart, they're trying to clone the awful fan-game that was the later Mario Kart atrocities.

What annoys me most is the very floaty motion.  Turning and sliding don't have the swings and pops they need.  It feels like linear interpolation everywhere.

Yeah it was kinda similar, You had pretty much the same items, And you had two characters per vehicle, Allowing you to switch between the two.
There was battle mode with balloons and pretty much everything from the original MK64, Including a few maps.
It was on the Gamecube, If you played a Mario Kart on the Gamecube, That was it.

Is it me, or is it getting cOLD in here? ~
Anyway, I'm tracking that mod too, so I can understand you feeling excited when you learned about its existence.

As for Doom, there's a Wolfenstein 3d mod for Source that wasn't looking too shabby that decided to expand to Quake and Doom as well. Look here for more information: http://www.moddb.com/mods/sda
(although the progress was already kind of slow when it was only Wolfenstein)

Well it is only 49% done, I expect it'll have thousands of alterations over the next 51%

Progress bars.
They tend to get stuck at 99%.

lol, this mod has been in development for at least 4 years guys. Get with it. lol...it has been in progress around the same percent for that amount of time too. They have a severe lack of dedicated programmers. Don't expect it to get a release unless KM goes on the dev team. lol

I'm pretty sure if we just wait and see, We might get something decent out of this mod, Or nothing at all.

Although, They recruited a new coder a month ago, Maybe this one will have more time and dedication than the other programmers, Who knows?

It's not just time and dedication, it's about skill. A shitty programmer can make anything but it will crash, be slow, or simply not work as intended. Their mod needs to modify the underlying movement dynamics so good luck to them...
