Random Weapon List

Just a quick little suggestion about the random weapon list. Could it be made so you don't have the same weapon more than once. In testing earlier I got the shotgun 4 times and the PP7 twice and the DD44. If it was set to that if the shotgun was already picked, I could have gotten 3 other weapons.

Well, the only problem is that players often tends to camp the weapon- or/and the armor-spawn, and it happens too often that it ruins the game.
So it should at least be two of the most powerful weapons, so with armors too.
IMO, the respawn time of armors should be twice as long, or else the armor-camper got it too easy to survive.
And the more armors there is on the map, the longer the respawn time is.
So should it be with weapons too.

Random is random though... You can't unrandom the random! It definitely shouldn't be used for all the weapons at once because that just throws all sense of balance out of the window.

Just having one or two random weapons can be interersting and can really change the way a map plays if the other weapons are middle-ground weapons like the KF7, Cougar and D5k rather than being over-powered or under-powered weapons, it makes the random ones more decisive. It could be a DD44, it could be an RCP90.  ;)

Well, I agree with Ferggy that there should be a bit limited and not get a weapon set with 4 shotguns.
There could be that you get two of the most powerful weapon from the set and the rest could be no more than one.

Also, if there is just one RCP90, the first one who gets there, will camp the spawn, so no-one will ever get it.
And more likely, the player will run back and forth from an armor spawn and the RCP90-spawn.

But.. we're talking about the Random weapon set aren't we? You know that the weapon sets are completely customizable by the server admin, it's very easy to modify and create your own too.

Really it's down to taste... the random option is just an option that's really geared towards aiding customization rather than an actual feasible weapon set by itself.

There is a limiter on explosives, only one type of explosives can be picked at a time for the random weapon set.

Limiting generic guns is stupid, plus they are already weighted random so the lesser power guns are picked more than the more powerful guns so you don't have 5 RCP90's vs 2 klobbs

Okay.

But getting 4 shotguns is just way too much.
There should be 2-3 of the same weapon, top.
But also increase the respawn time on armors too.
And the more armors there is on the map, the longer the respawn time is.

So long as the options are ultimately customizable by the server admin, I'm definitely okay with random actually being random (with the more powerful guns being slightly less likely).

I mean... the option's not called "four unique weapons", it's random. Maybe you play one round with four shotguns, maybe the next you have pistols and rocket launchers. That constant variety is the sole appeal of the random option. I mean, it certainly sounds like you haven't played a round like that before. And that's the kind of gameplay I expect when I play a game with random weapons.

In the N64 version, you could shoot the armor to move it to a different spot, and it wouldn't spawn in the normal spot after that.  You could also blow it up.  I don't think you can do either in the GES version.

This is possible in GES too at least sometimes, but the armor will respawn at it's default location when picked up. Also after some time has passed or the armor moved to far away from it's spawn location.

Anyway, i don't think we need players moving the armor spawns.
