[ISSUE] hl2.exe not responding

This normally happens the first time I get shot, it happens at other random times as well.

Maybe try the latest steam beta could help, I know Hl2.exe stops responding after I quit the game (CS:S TF2 L4d and have to enter task manager to end it) not quite the same thing but worth a try.

I am using the beta.

And all other Games/Mods for Hl2 and similar work for you?

-Try reinstalling Goldeneye, maybe re download if you have the time.

-Reinstall SDK Base Orangebox (just to cover all bases)

-Maybe list your computer stats just to rule out all possible compatibiliy issues.

-Check Tempitures, see if you over heating.

I never installed half life 2 deathmatch, I only bought it for the Orangebox to play Goldeneye. 

My computer should supprt it, it's a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 (Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor T2080, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive, SuperMulti DVD Drive, Vista Premium)

seems like it came close, I can definitely shoot the person up until point they die.  However, when I get shot or die, or I kill someone else, it stops working.

Try it! I would also venture to reinstall source sdk base 2007... just delete the gcf for it and the folder in your steam name directory
