It seems that whenever I click "Find Servers", and when i join a game, the game mode is automatically selected for the server, before I even join. Whenever I try to "create a server," then I just select what map I want, and that's it! However, when I click on the "games" tag on the create server window, it comes up as a blank window... How can I change the game mode on my own server?

Yes, it's  a server variable. You, as a client, can't change it.

Yes, this is still in a beta stage

How can I change the game mode on my own server?

1/ Have a look at the "Community Help" sub forum.
2/ Read the sticky: "Search the wiki first".
3/ wiki.
4/ Use the handy fellow Search Function with GameMode, for example.
5/ Click on the #5 result: Server Commands.
