Two things:

1. N64 GoldenEye featured Brosnan, not some hybrid. This mod should follow suit.

2. Weapons should have the sound effects of their N64 counterparts.

Sorry, I understand. I just had a negative reaction upon seeing hybrid Bond's face - he bears no small resemblance to my grandmother. But it's a first person game - not like I'll always be seeing it. 

Good to hear that you intend on using the N64 GoldenEye sound effects. That'll make the mod.

Are you sure? I'm asking out of curiosity, what kind of infringement would it be? Considering you're not making money of the project. I am not exactly sure of how it works, or where you actually stand in this whole issue. Have you been contacted by Rare, MGM or vice versa?
Personally I find it Bond-esque, not very much like Brosnan, but it sure is Bond-esque. The Boris and Mishkin look much more like their actor counterparts, could that cause a problem?

I think it is actually the actors themselves who could get us for unlicensed use of their likeness or something like that.  It doesn't matter if we don't make money on it.  Because we aren't making money, we've flown under the radar so far, but the danger is always there.  Personally I'm not too concerned about it, but we'd rather play on the safe side then have the whole project shut down over something stupid like that.  As long as we keep it close, it will be enough like goldeneye to retain the feel, which is the ultimate goal.

Would you consider it unwise to notify anyone with influence about this project? Have you had any sort of contact with the license holders? I can't help but to think that bringing this topic up with anyone influential would be like shooting oneself in the foot, you're in an vulnerable position.

Well art side not much going on. We are trying to finish up maps and some models where as the only thing we have to release on that side is some prop models which isnt huge. It has been mainly coding that has been the main goal of the team right now. We would post code snippets but you know how much fun that is to read.
