Just want to know what to expect in the 3.1 patch when it's released.

Radar bandwidth optimization, should help mitigate the server performance problems.
Klobb easter egg activation.
Developer identification on the scoreboard. (To prevent imposters.)
Weapon balance tweaks. (I mentioned them in my weblog.)
New scenario: Taco Toss! The objective is to see who can blast Taco McFerggy's ragdoll the furthest down Runway's runway by skipping him along a series of proximity mines.
Proximity alert trigger before reaching the detonate radius. (Hopefully this will make the alert tone useful rather than a You're Already Dead notice.)
Removal of some exploits identified after 3.01's release.

Taco Toss is a cool idea :D
Concerning the proximity alert I think it would be more fun without it.
People who dislike proximity mines may - like before - chose a server without them or at least with a random weaponset. (as I recall there was mostly only one round per map with them)
I mean come on, what about the schadenfreude and the moment of.... surprise? *throws-telephone-receiver-at-Viashino-Cutthroat-but-doesn't-reach-him-because-the-cable's-too-short*
It spoils the whole suprise and though we know they will be planted in doorways - still the question remaining is: in which will they be this time? :D (-> when proximity mines triggering other proximity mines is fixed you may find out by throwing some yourself, too)

There is a long list of changes, but we'll release a change log when we release the patch which should be soon.

Play as Oddjob ENTIRE round and earn MOSTLY HARMLESS
Bond, James Bond
Play as Bond ENTIRE round and earn MOST PRO and MARKSMANSHIP
Hayday Mayday
Play as May Day ENTIRE round and earn MOST FRANTIC and SHORTEST INNINGS
Mischeivious Mishkin
Play as Mishkin ENTIRE round and earn MOST DISHONORABLE
Two-Faced
Earn Most Honorable and Most Dishonorable in the same round (5 times)
Why Won't You Die?
Earn AC-10 Award 25 Times
Viashinowned
Earn 4+ Good Awards in the same round
The World is Not Enough
Earn all 6 awards in the same round (Unlocked after Viashinowned)
Secret Agent, Man
Earn 1,500 Kills (Unlocked after LTK)
GoldenEye Master
Earn 3,000 Kills (Unlocked after SAM)
You Should Be Honored
Be killed by a developer/tester (50 times)
You Should Be Grateful
Kill a developer/tester (50 times)
Die Another Day
Get kills with 10% or less of health
LTK buffs the *KILL* achievements to 3 to 1, ie your kills count 1 for every three you make in License to Kill mode.
All weapon Secret Agent requires 150 kill and 00 Agent requires 250 kills, you will have to re-earn the achievements if you already got them with the lower level.
Now would be a great time to BACKUP your gamestate.txt in the gesource directory. That when you will be assured not to lose your achievements when you apply the B3.1 patch.

I love Austen Powers.
About the awards though, I have NEVER seen anyone get "Where's the Ammo", or "Where's the Armor". Maybe the requirements for this should be slackened, and with that, my achievement idea could be used.
"Permanent Limp - Play as Valentin for an entire round, and earn 'Where's the Armor'"
Another one I thought up was:
"Mystical Voodo - Earn a total of X deaths from the AuG, while playing as Baron Samedi"

There was a bug in the code that ment the lowest val awards never got selected. Expect them to make a come back in 3.1

I wanted a first-place and KD ratio requirement in there but I if he did it (and he did tell me he included my requested stipulations) he didn't add it to the achievement description.
As I had drafted it, I enjoyed the fact that I had to perform above-average to earn it. Now, it'll be a first-day-playing award since getting four isn't very difficult. >_>

thats alright, some of the most fun ive had is in DoD: Source, teleporting all the bots to one location on a map (in which they proceed to form a totem pole) and light them on fire, you then have a flaming pillar of bots, its amazing!

Valve released DoD:S with mentally deficient bots that don't do anything, so theres no reason you cant add them, and then make them actually do something later :)
Also, I was wondering if the audio fade out issue was fixed for 3.1? (like the death sound temporarily muting player chat during a round)

Im hoping to add a lua interface for the bots so people can make there own.

They would be welcomed as a nice addition, that's for sure. If someone could code an A.I. for them (a smart one that is), they would help in filling some slots on the servers and also serve as cannon fodder when one is not in the mood for online play.

Could we have achievements disabled (like when the server used cheats at any time during a time) when playing with bots? (unless it's certain bots provided by the ge:s team that at least are set to a real hard difficulty and therefore matching a "real" onlineserver with humans)
-> it would be too easy to gain every achievement (even the more tricky ones) just playing with bots (especially if ppl could create their own and make them dumb like hell)

i would assume achievements would only be available in online play with only human opponents without cheating. otherwise you wouldnt be "achieving" anything

Exactly. I agree with the above opinions too. I didn't express that on my post, but I thought about it on my subconscient.

Guessing feature will be very similar to the old way of adding bots.
To run the "Bot" command you needed sv_cheats so would disable them. So guessing will be very similar where if a bot is in the game, achievements are disabled.
(Remember testing the achievements with bots, man that was boring, nothing like killing 500 bots :( )

whats with all this bot chatter? They won't be in any patch release, VC was just talking about internally releasing the bot command not in the released patch...
@Gigawatts: I fixed the voice fade out when the special music played, I used a brute force method to fade out all the other noises (map music, weapon sounds, etc.) and it left the voice alone :) stupid Valve and their severe lack of documentation of the audio engine

Lol, the key to enjoyment was setting bot_mimic to 1 and then crouch jumping on cradle. ;)

Back up your gamestate file, that's the file that contains your statistics.
