is there a default configuration for an xbox controller? and if so, how to I apply it to the button mapping?

There are several setups for 360 and PS3 pad.

i think it was something like

"exec 360controller_shared.cfg"
and either
"exec 360controller.cfg"
or
"exec 360controller_southpaw.cfg" 
in console, without the "

cool, so there is a configuration! Would you be able to give me a step by step walkthrough of how to load it?

Enable the ingame console by writing -console in the launch options of the mod (right click, properties>start up options).

then simply launch the game and on the main screen there should be a console window now.
Enter the commands from my last post there and it should work.

For the buttons, you can also map them using the keybord settings, but the sticks might work incorrect on the default valve setup.
