Well, technically Jeron it doesn't matter what congress says. Any sitting president can send any branch of armed forces anywhere he pleases. Commander in chief. Supreme command authority exists there.

What you say amounts in reality to stating that Bush had an undeclared war on Iraq. His title legally empowered him to make a decision to rid the world of "tyranny" as he stated. The voters are to blame for putting someone there willing to wage wars based on personal opinion and past grievance.

America was fucked up during the bush years because of the people voted him in. America HAS been fucked up ongoing for 30 years since your country started favoring wall street financially, printing money to cover debt, and waging a million wars that strip your economy and instill class gaps and propel unemployment. Just in the bush times those poor decisions over the last half century were given a horrible agenda that made the mistakes evident to joe average if he decided not to be so ignorant.

This tea party shit was so lame I can't even talk about it beyond name calling it's retardedness.

United Kingdom is fucked up as well chaps, fucking governments out for power and money, the latest thing the government keeps on about is droughts in the UK, stupid thing is it's been raining for months, I figure it's only a matter of time before they come up with drought charges,it's like congestion charges, the government are the fucking reason we have congestion in the first place, the UK is over crowded, there's no jobs, more homeless appearing all the time, at least 50 percent of crime in the UK is because of people not even from this country, yet they still come in by the thousands.

The president DOES NOT have cart blanche authority over the military. Congress, in 2001, authorized the president that authority to engage all enemies of the United States responsible for the September 11 attacks. Obviously, this was abused, but none the less Congressional authority is required to engage in war with another nation (it's explicitly written in the Constitution).

The President is the Commander in Chief, but cannot use the forces outside of the United States for war w/o Congressional authority. This is why Congress was pissed off when Obama ordered the Navy to attack Libya. Obama overstepped his authority.
