Split Screen Option Wanted

No offence But id Scratch the Split screen Idea sorry . I want to know tho is there a way to force spec on 4 slots of an 8 slot server?  Im in an issue here with Jestservers  the Min order is 8 slots but it can be lowered to 4 for the same cost as an 8 :-(   Id like to get the 8 slots for what im paying but designate them to spec only so the first 4 ppl join get a playerslot and the other are spec. Can anyone Help on this issue? Jest from Jestservers is interested in this as well

You can control the number of players in the server.cfg I think... something like sv_maxclients

Portal 2 does something like splitscreen - although im not quite sure how the guys at Valve did it. (you bring up your partner's view by keeping the tab key pressed)
Either a video stream (which i doubt since it's looking too good) or rendering a second player locally based on some information transmitted via the netcode. The picture shown is small but one could scale it - maybe they developed some viable idea that'd work also for 4 players.

Frankly, I have no idea if there's some information on this out there, but just maybe it's worth looking into it.

Part of an engine upgrade that they have not released access to.  Which also means the mod would have to go through yet another full update.

what is source tv really? I heard of this way back when I first started playing CS. Will it allow my friend watch me play source games without buying the game?
