Level Designing

I have 3 years experience in level design, but only for Doom 3 on GTK Radiant, how would I go about designing maps for Goldeneye Source? Also going by these pictures of some of my work, do you think I would have the skill required considering GTK Radiant is a very simple tool to use compared to most?

Sorry mate, wasn't sure where to ask.

Also I had zero experience of Doom 3 once as well, but that didn't stop me, you shouldn't underestimate people.

I typed "Creating maps in Goldeneye Source" and various other keywords but had no luck finding anything to get me started.

Since you're allready familiar with a bsp engine, it won't be to hard to switch to source.
Just a matter of learning the interface and commands, the theoretical stuff e.g. level optimisation should be nearly the same.

Thats what I was going to say.
Yea, you deffinately have a good grasp of what level designing is all about. Now you need to perfect it though. I would highly recommend sticking to one medium of mapping.

BSP used in Source =/= BSP used in DOOM 3

Doom 3 uses 100% real time lighting (no baking) and no PVS. This cuts the process down to just developing the BSP tree which is only 1 / 4 steps from the Source process and also a significant shift in work flow.

In hammer you spend most of your time positioning lighting and configuring exceptions instead of actually mapping.

No one is underestimating you, however you can't expect to be snatched up / taken too seriously when you have zero experience in something. At some point I didn't know how to program as well (be it I was not in high school yet) and clearly I have overcome that hurdle in my life (over the last 10 years) but its a continual process of self exploration, learning, and dealing with ass holes like me who do not give people the benefit of the doubt without proper justification.

I had a go, created a little map with a couple of area's but truth is I am not really going to have time, I am currently working on a new original Quake game for Doom 3 which is where the screenshots came from, and as I am the only person working on this, I have got my work cut out. But thanks to all those who helped. I'll just stick with playing this super mod and leave the mapping to the pro's.

Oh... and I love your Bunker map Kraid, great work.
