Linux server problems
« on: March 24, 2009, 12:29:00 am »

Ok, i run a cs 1.6 gaming community, and i have setup a source server once, but i cannot seem to get this server to WORK! I am running linux gentoo, but i dont know if thats the problem. I get all these errors that textures and all different models arent loading. I am just following the guide here http://wiki.goldeneyesource.net/index.php/Beta3_Server_Install are there steps before this? am I using the right install? im using the ges_b301_server_client.zip for install, yes i have orangebox installed. But this is driving me NUTS!

second question once its up, does the server support 100 tic?

And also im a 3D animator and am interesting in helping your cause. ;)

I would stay away from 100tick, I've tried it, only had problems, aka doors glitching out, and such. Could try it though just test all maps and check moving objects like doors and such.

You are trying to instal v 3.01 which isn't the latest build and require a tricky installation. I'd suggest you to install and play GES v3.1 found here (use full zip). Just to confirm: 3.1 runs great on gentoo 2008.

Linux can be a problem due to Valves coding.
