yea its a 3.1 server. i just changed my host name to double. i followed the instructions on the wiki on how to install a source mod server. i didnt have the earlier version of GES. the 3.1 is the only one i ever downloaded. i must have missed something in order for you not to at least see it.

 i dont think 5.186.216.82   is my ip address. when i go to whatsmyip this is what it tells me 70.161.238.194.

ok i went to canyuseme.org and put in the 27015 and this is what it said.

Error: I could not see your service on 70.161.238.194 on port (27015)
Reason: Connection refused

i have my firewall off so i dont know how this is still being blocked this is what my screen says after status in the server console.

OK so:

(1) Port 27015 is blocked. You have to find one that's not. It could be your ISP, or your own equipment. If your firewall is off, and you're plugged into your modem, it's probably your ISP.

(2) SRCDS has the wrong IP address (5.186.216.82). That's pretty fishy. Try adding "+ip 70.161.238.194" to your arguments.

forgive me for asking you this mookie, but how do i add that to arguments. i have a brain meltdown going on rite now. i been trying to figure this out all day. whats a argument

Probably you're launching the server from a batch file, all the arguments come after srcds.exe and start with - or +. You'll already have at least -console and -game gesource.

yea im launching it with a batch file. that is what the wiki instructions said to do. i guess i need to do it another way

Batch is the way to go, unless you have a daemon-managing program for loading servers. Just edit the batch file.

For the Meta command, un-zip and move the .vdf file into the gesource/addons folder. This tells meta what game your running, and where.

Hey thanks major, i finally got a server up and running last night. Thanks for all the input. apparently my issue was i had Hamanchi installed. i had to disable it on my network settings. after that, i loaded up a server and was able to see it on the master server list and was able to join it.
