Any electronic composers that use FL Studio or similar programs will realize that setting up a project can be a pain in the ass. There are some things that will be used in nearly every (if not absolutely every) piece you do, such as low-bass high pass filtering, frequency isolation, side chaining, and general EQing. I made this template project as an effort to jump start the creative process with premade filters on typical elecronica elements like percussion, texture, atmosphere, lead, bass, etc. The reason for this is that creating a good mix from the very beginning is CRUCIAL when it comes to mastering in the end. If you start with a muddy mix and roll with it, you'll end up crying yourself to sleep trying to figure out why your music sounds like a bag of dicks.
The template contains 25 pre-customized mixer channels (mostly 40Hz cuts to avoid bass mud caused by resonant frequencies, easily the most common mistake made by beginners), 11 of which are specialized for typical electronica elements. A channel has also been set up for vocal recording with effects applied on a send for added customizability (both channels default muted).
Two sidechains have been established; heavy and light (referring to the level of negative gain). Heavy sidechaining (labelled SC Target) is good for pads and environmental sounds, while lightchaining is good for anything more in the foreground.
Just because equalizers have already been applied to the main channels doesn't mean it won't need tweaking. This isn't meant to be an easy way out of careful mixing; it's simply meant to encourage mixing more at the compositional level, rather than being pushed to the very last phase of composing.
Keep in mind that the EQ templates I've created may need to be shifted to match the frequency range of the instruments you choose. The bass channel has very little done to it due to the fact that bass synths are simply too diverse to create a general EQ template. You'll have to do that one on your own
To install, simply put the .flp into your FL Studio/Data/Projects/Templates folder, boot up FL, File - New from Template. If you want this template to boot up with FL by default, close FL immediately after opening the template.
