You shouldn't need 256 cores, or dies, to run three games concurrently.  I admin'd a quad-core that was running two TF2 and two COD4 simultaneously.  The only problem was the bandwidth on the RAM bus I think, COD4 would change maps and TF2 would lagspike for a second.

WTF

Hoping to see more software I'm interested in that will use multiple cores. I have a quad, but apparently the cores aren't used efficiently unless the software is written to.

If there was a way of running games at the SAME time then yeah maybe, but since you can only be playing 1 game at a time and the others are using little resources in the background.

When I first bought my computer I was running GE,COD4,and Crysis at same time, but since only 1 would be using any processor you could run a lot more. But I ran out of ram (have 4gb) so if you had like 8-16gbs of ram, you would easily run 3 games at once.

I need more RAM. 3 GB isn't completely doing it for me...

"since you can only be playing 1 game at a time"

Sounds like someone needs more monitors, mice, keyboards, and an IV of hardcore.
