Yeah sorry
Don't. There are countless of other things much more important than ges.
it isint backwards compatible and wont ever be.
My main concern would be how many player with 1.1h will update their game to 1.1i??? Not much. There are still some players on beta 1.0, some players with a previous version (1.1f, 1.1g). With a new version, the game will be even more clutered. With the actual very very low player base GES has, its not a good thing.
Go fot a 1.1i, but if you're planning a 1.1j or k or z that isn't backwards compatible, forget it and take time to polish this new version.
Like Wake says, your patch has gone as far as it needs: fix the reluctant
s bug
s of the beta 1.0.
On the other side, 3 other requests for this 1.1i:1/
say and
say_team are displayed the same way in the in-game chat.
playername: message
Since teamplay really take off in ges thanks to beta 1.1, I would suggest to made
say_team different, like in the beta 1.0:
{to: team} playername: message
2/
weapon load outs im not touching as then ill have to recompile each map
I do understand your point. There's only two or three maps that include the item/team spawn point entities. What about weapon loadouts? Its up on all the maps (so no need of a recompile), and changing the weapon set with a CVAR would be useful. With the rather unbalanced game we have, a pistol only weapon set in ltk would be much better.
3/I'm trying to set up hlstatsx-like stats( i see countless of addicted players to that in TF2, why not in GES?). Its based on logs file. However,
* weapons arent registered
* teams are registered in deathmatch
At the moment, the logs looks like that:
L mm/dd/yyyy - hh:mm:ss: "PlayerName<uid><steamid><MI6>" killed "PlayerName2<uid><steamid><MI6>"
whereas, according to the
half life log standards, it should be like these:
L mm/dd/yyyy - hh:mm:ss: "PlayerName<uid><steamid><team>" killed "PlayerName2<uid><steamid><team>" with "ge_weapon"
team being a variable equals to
unassigned in deathmatch mode, and either
MI6 or
Janus in teamdeathmatch mode.
Really, those are 3 personnal requests. Do what you want with them, regarding the amount of work needed to fix them
Catch me on steam or PM for a test of the patch if ya want
