Goldeneye Live Arcade Version LEAKED
« on: January 19, 2008, 07:00:55 am »

http://www.digg.com/xbox/Goldeneye_Live_Arcade_version_LEAKED_Check_this_out

This is video of the leaked silo map being played. This shit is very BIG, save the video, LONG LIVE GOLDENEYE.

This was being developed on a PC, thus the source, and everything could be leaked. If that happened, dear god. The original submitter is no doubt a bitter developer, or someone from inside.

Sorry to be so cynical, but how do you know that isn't just a recording of someone using Project64 or recording their N64 with a TV card and then putting some fake framerate overlay over it?

The N64 version never ran that smoothly. IMO, it is not a fake.

There isn't really any proof it is or isn't a fake.  I don't really see the point anyway since it got cancelled.

Wow it is real. You can't just edit the models like that, at least there is no public tool that allows you to do that. Plus it's running so smooth. Petetion has tons of signatures, MajorNelson said he is letting the right people know about this and forwarding all the emails he's been getting to the appropriate persons. It's getting somewhere. I wouldn't be suprised if by GDC it's announced.

OMG! Awesome! Too bad the project is now on ice.

Btw, as far as I see, graphics are updated. But no new AI?

I fixed the sound! http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/162636.html

Also for the doubters, Dark Sniper from N4G says the following (in third person... o_O)

Dark Sniper has researched this extensively. After looking at this video and comparing it to the original Nintendo 64 version. This game looks to be running on XBOX 360 hardware. From what it looks like, this game is not running off of an emulator of N64. It looks as if RARE stripped the rom and remade the game with subtle differences. The reason for Dark Sniper's belief is simply because if this game ran on an Nintendo 64 emulator, then legal issues would be implemented from Nintendo.

Please notice this picture Dark Sniper has found. As you will see certain things like the lamp being re-sized and somewhat completely different. The left is the XBOX Live Remake and the Right is the Original.

Also, Dark Sniper finds it peculiar that certain things in accomplishing the missions is slightly different, but enough for Dark Sniper to notice. Look at 1:43 of the video. It's the part of the game where you need to take a picture of the missle. On the original N64 version, you would need to promptly go to the pause menu and switch to the camera to take the picture. On this youtube video, whoever is playing switched from the plastique(another item that can be only equipped in the pause menu) to the camera on the fly. No pausing was needed to make the switch. Dark Sniper believes that this could not be done with a simple hack of the engine through an emulator.

Dark Sniper's conclusion: Real

Whats the purpose of an AI change in a port? the game would feel too different (its not a remake even tho that guy above me says it is..) so they need to keep the updates subtle and that promotes nostalgia.

Personally, I think it's real... notice that the scientist you take the keycard from at 1:30 has no head.

But I don't think the fact that you can switch to the bond camera without pausing is much confirmation, couldn't they just edit that out really quickly, anyways?

I think this is real, cause there were so much things which cannot be done by editing the rom.
Missing Heads the Rocket which seems to have a clipping problem and some other things are indicating that this is a very early version of the Game.
Also looks like they simply porting the N64-Version to XBLA without mayor changes.
Some textures and models are different but the rest is looking like GE64.

They really should do some more changes (graphic), maybe some shadders on the Textures or real time Light.
Don't get me wrong, it doesn't have to look like "State of the art" but better then this and
an XBox 360 should have enought power to run it on 60fps even with some changes.

If they just wanna do an 1:1 Port, they better bring it to the VirtualConsole.

Yeah But you'd think you see some jump in the video as he still would have been moving before he paused.

I'm happy they won't release it. Original still rules.
