GES Update 9/7/07

This week enlightens the Phantom. Seen in the Goldeneye 64 singleplayer on the Frigate level, it became a favorite renowned weapon in part due to its sleek design, solid rate of fire, and its rarity/exclusiveness in the original game. Unfortunately in GE64, however, you couldn't use it in multiplayer, but for Goldeneye Source and for the interest of the players and fans, you will be able to arm the Phantom in your multiplayer arsenal. Baron (modeling) & KonradBeerbaum (texturing) did a fine job in recreating this unique and imposing weapon by staying true to the original while giving it that nostalgic enhanced touch.



And as an added bonus this week, ArmoredFury presents the T55 Battle Tank model! He extensively modeled it and texturing it is soon to come, while here is the modeled prop. You'll be seeing it in Runway and Streets.



As far as the two media screenshots go in terms of how they relate to each other... (like for example how we had the runway and the porter plane one week) well.... wasn't there a tank on the frigate?

Woot a new gun!  Looks great as always, and I can't wait to see that tank fully textured :D.  You guys sure have been busy.

It's really a shame the Phantom wasn't available in multiplayer in the original game, since it was one of the best guns (70% damage for headshot, 50 rounds).  Because of this, I think I am looking forward to this gun more than any other (except possibly for the grenade launcher).

Great work on the model, one of the best so far!

Well i believe there may be i think it's being worked on but Frigate is on the list of maps we intend to make  :)

Ditto. next release is going to have os much stuff to look forward to.

Lovely work on the Phantom guys was always worth playing the frigate for this gun alone. I'm really glad you guys are adding some of the things that were missing from the original GE:64 Multiplayer aspect such as this gun. Would love to eventially see this gun being dual wielded as it was in the game if you can or intend to.

Hopefully some of the stuff shown in these updates will figure in the next release, but I expect some of the guns to not be ready for the next release. Yes, they are modeled and textured, but there is no word about if animations of the guns are done.

I was wondering, with all these weapons, are yous guys going to code in different "modes," like, "power weapons," "sniper rifles," "pistols," etc.  Or is it just going to be the same as it is now, where the server will decide which weapons to spawn.  I was thinking about how hard it is to get through weapons when I've picked up everything as is, just wondering what direction that's going in.

we didn't have different modes in yet since not all the weapons were done and there would have been gaping holes in most if not all of them. Oh how things change <3

Obviously we're going to have to invent some of our own, there was no weapon set with the Phantom in it in GE64.

My recommendation was to use Phantom with the extended weapon loadouts I detail on the wiki.  Apparently I'm the only one who's read/understood the page's content, however, so expect the unexpected.

I was hoping weapon sets and multi-player options were handled like perfect dark, where you could choose custom weapon combos and save multiple setups of all the options for multi-player. (along with the classic sets)

Hey, I just recently joined so I could compliment on how much your mod to Half-Life 2 is wicked awesome. It brings me back -- very nostalgic!! This has to be THE best mod for any game, seriously.

I haven't played GoldenEye Source in a while, though. Downloaded it last Christmas (when it released), but now I must redownload it to my new computer. Can't wait to check out what I've been missing these past months! And I can't wait for the new updates!

You guys are the best! :)
