So I was thinking about going in and making a custom game mode, but I'm curious to see what steps need to be taking before I tackle this project.

  • Is it just a matter of putting the python game mode file in gesource\python\ges\GamePlay\ or are there other steps that need to take place (e.g. Edit a certain file so the game knows the new game mode exists)?
  • I noticed those game mode files have no main(), so the functions must be being called from somewhere. Where is the main() and are there any special things I should take into consideration for editing it?
  • Is there an easy way to debug the new game mode or do I need to launch the game and try to load it up each time?

If all of this is covered in some post, FAQ, or wiki I've missed, then please direct me accordingly.
