HeadLights Foggy or Yellow? Check This Out!
« on: July 02, 2012, 01:39:00 am »

Both of my headlights were very foggy. I was going to purchase those headlight cleaning kits at the auto shop for around $10 and clean away, but before that, I checked around Youtube and other sites and stumbled upon something interesting.

One video showed some dude using an ordinary toothpaste to clean and shine his headlights. So I thought hmm Ill try this and see if it works.

This is the before I started working on them. It's a Nissan Sentra 2002. It was getting night, so I quickly took pictures.

First I cleaned the dirt off, then sprayed water on it. I then applied Colgate Original toothpaste with no mint added and spread it around the headlight as show below. I set the paste for over 20 mins to do its magic. While your waiting, play some GES or help your wife cook or continue working on developing v4.2!

After scrubbing for nearly 20 mins, I sprayed it with regular water and wiped off all the paste. This is the result.

and this is the passenger side headlight...

Amazing results. It actually works great. I had in mind of buying two brand new headlights before attempting to clean them. Those things cost what like $50-$100 right? Its a waste of money.  I honestly can't guarantee if this works on all headlights for every car or truck. Try it and let us know! Spread the word!

I went to the drug store and found Colgate paste on sale for $0.99. What a fucking bargain!

Make sure to use regular/original white toothpaste with NO MINT added. The extra additives might damage the headlight someone mentioned.

Good luck!
