It was a little harsh    but intended to be light-hearted.

The video was alright, but it won't win. The winners will always be people who put a lot of effort into their entries. That's not to say there was no effort behind your entry, but it pushed no boundries. A simple concept with average execution.

The ending was the only good part really! If there was anything to enjoy about it, it would be the ending.  Wow your dull

And you clearly can't take ANY criticism, which is why your video will fail. If you took criticism, or even sought it, you wouldn't have made such an average video.


If you care about specific criticism:

1. How the fuck does the pepper have the keys to the car? Is that dude seriously that stupid to leave the keys in the house? He was only in there for 5 seconds! This is the main reason why the ending is terrible.

2. The makeup on the pepper guy's face is shoddy.

3. There is little to no motivation involved. Why are they stealing the secret recipe? What is the significance of this house? How do they even "break into" the house, they have the keys to it? Thats silly.

4. The editing of the movie is not well done with terrible transition breaks and shoddy camera work.

haha, i know the video isn't great, but you should see some of the junk on there!

and to answer your questions..

1. You here the driver say "where are my keys" and then the pepper shows that he has them, so we're not going anywhere.  Perhaps he dropped it in the house because of all the running and stuff.  Or maybe the Pepper just mysteriously has them for who knows how.  It's a GIANT PEPPER! I think that realism went out the door quite quickly.  So either way its clever, well more clever than them just driving away.  Originally we were going to have him fumble the keys, but instead he just can't find them.

2. Sorry, we could not afford to hire professional make up artists

We were going to thicken the plot, but it is just a commercial.  We were going to have the reason be, that they would become famous for doing so.  But yea it sounds like your main problem is realism, but once again there is a giant pepper chasing us down because we stole his secret recipe.  Also the video had to be 60secs long, so good thing we didnt add anymore to it because we had no time.

ok ok, I am not trying to be ridiculously harsh. However, believability is an essential ingredient to engaging the audience. There was no reason why it has to be realistic, that is a separate matter entirely. Length need not be affected, you don't have to have a monologue with the audience. Simple quips, on-screen text, or a one-off conversation between the driver/passenger that is more involved then "we need to break in to grab the secrete recipe".

I'm just saying this in case you decide to do another challenge or video in the future. It is imperative that you bring the audience INTO the commercial, not just watching it and wondering why this crap is playing on my TV.

One of my favorite commercials this year have been the ones about health care insurance and the dude selling all his things to pay for his wife's terminal care. Not a single word is spoken, but the commercial is so moving and engaging that almost everyone is brought to tears instantly at the ending. Study up!

That almost brought me to tears right there.  Remember the famous commercial where the kid is eating McCain french fries, and putting ketchup on each fry before eating?  Well that commercial changed my life.  I am now studying to be a lawyer because that commercial inspired me. 

Anyways, jokes aside.. I can take criticism, by that I mean "constructive" criticism.  Some of the comments were a bit insulting.  I know the commercial will be crappy in a lot of peoples eyes, but there have been many good reviews as well.  I bet that if I saw this video, and had not made it, that I would find it cheezy as well, but still mildly humorous.  This whole forum topic is hilarious.  I am just looking for people to help vote on the video.  Well this is enough on this subject.  Thanks for the tips.  I will keep them in mind
