Was is censored? *snicker*
It might have been the FSK 12 version (broadcasted before 10pm) which is cutted somewhat arround 2 minutes compared to the FSK 16 version, which is the uncensored one.
The private channels often cut films by theirselfs to broadcast them earlier, while the non commercial ones which are financed by a tax every owner of a TV or Radio has to pay, just broadcast them later in the evening.
Also every broadcast rated 16 or 18 will have a warning message at the beginning: this broadcast isn't suitable for people under 16/18 years.
Well, the TV 16 is more like something between 12 & 16 while the TV 18 is a 16 in most cases.
Now after the Shool shooting in Winnenden this week on Wednesday, the politicans blame videogames, horrormovies and Shootingclubs again.
We allready got the worlds restrictivest rules on violence in the media and very harsh rules for weapons too, but some ppl would like to ban everything they don't like completly and use this tragedy for their advantage.
Just a few hours after this happened, the TV was full of "news" related to it.
Of course one of the first things to speculate about: did he play those nasty games.
Now we know the police found CS and FarCry2 on his computer (which isn't really a suprise coz allmost everyone has it), so the guilty one s found. The videogame made him doing this.
Some Bavarian politicans reanimated a legislative initiative to ban violent games and punish the production and distribution of them.
In case they sucede, it'll be forbidden by law to produce and sell violent games (they mean every game for mature audience) here in germany.
This isn't youth protection, it's worse censorship and it would be the day i decide to relocate to another country.
Oh and just for or american friends i want to explain how we handle the owning of weapons:
1. you have to be 18 years old
2. there has to be a reason e.g. you're a official hunter or a member of a shooting club
3. you will be checked for your physikal and mentaly ability to handle a weapon
(no weapon if you've ever been mentaly unstable or if you have a police record)
4. you can own 16 weapons at max.
5. the weapons have to be stored in a save which fullfills a certain EU norm
6. ammunition has to be stored seperately
Now some ppl wanna have even harsher restrictions on these things too.
Like raise the age to be member in a shooting club (now it's 12) or the age to own a weapon and the weapons should be stored in the shooting club, not at home anymore.
Others wanna have a central weapon register.
Well, i don't think they will succede with these (maybe the last point, but nothing more) coz the shooting clubs have a huge Lobby (at least much bigger then the games here in germany).
The sad thing about it, course of this witchhunting there is no real discussion about the true reasons for this.
These school shootings have started since the media made a huge story out of the incident at the columbine school.
At the end these things are 'just' a form of suicide, but with the knowing the media will send it 24/7 at least for two days, some might take this 'last chance' to get famose.
Ever wondered why there are allmost no news about suicides in the media, simply becourse it was decided that way, so noone would be encouraged to do something like this.
And well, it's nothing of major interest, exept it's a VIP.
