JcFerggy: First off, who all was involved in the map, and what where their jobs?
Rusky: It was mostly Me, Luchador, and Frexx. I did the creative aspect to it, Luchador was the mapper, and Frexx helped test it.

JcFerggy: And by creative aspect, you mean?
Rusky: Well, I came up with the idea and presented it to Luchador, told him of different rooms, critique, and provide references.

JcFerggy: Like screens of actual casinos, and shots from the movie?
Rusky: Yes.

JcFerggy: When did development on the map start?
Rusky: It started around April of 2008.

JcFerggy: And when was Cr_Casino released?
Rusky: It was released in early August.

JcFerggy: So development was only from April to August?
Rusky: Yes I believe so

JcFerggy: Wow, that’s quite fast for the quality of the map.
Rusky: Yup, he's a great mapper, definitely team quality if he ever decided to apply.

JcFerggy: Were there any areas that went through vast changes?
Rusky: In the original make, there was an elevator included just as in the film. But because of some difficulties, Luchador thought it be best to take it out (at least for now) it is replaced by a short stairwell in its stead.

JcFerggy: Were there any other areas that were planned, but did not make it in?
Rusky: We wanted to include the streets that lead to the circular parking area to the front of the hotel, but was a bit too complex to figure out from the limited camera angle in the film. So it is separated by a little channel from other buildings.

JcFerggy: How many public releases of the map were there?
Rusky: We released it initially on the Nw server to help gain interest into the mod again. Since then, others have put the map on their servers and Frexx added the link of the map on the Nw website for download.

JcFerggy: So there was only the one initial release?
Rusky: Pretty much, we tested the first Casino several times before, then we released the final version which included the Poker table, railings from the stand, new textures to the bathrooms, and the music.

JcFerggy: What would you say is your favourite area of the map; and why?
Rusky: I love the outside area. Luchador did a magnificent job with the exterior of the building. The "Casino Royale" sign is gorgeous and looks exactly like the building from the film. He did great on every part keeping it realistic throughout the map though.

JcFerggy: Where did the idea come from to make the map?
Rusky: It came from the Casino Royale film. I thought it was one of the greatest Bond films made and thought that the Casino would make for a great multiplayer map. I also liked the idea of having maps from other films included in GE:S to make the selection even greater.

JcFerggy: I have never seen the movie Casino Royal, so I wouldn't personally know; but are there any Easter Eggs in the map?
Rusky: Yes, there is a blood stain at the bottom of the stairwell where Bond threw one of Le Chiffre's clients down during the stairwell fight scene, and where he later kills Obanno.

JcFerggy: Just out of curiosity, what maps did you too work on?
Rusky: Just this one. We were planning on making Miami International but Luchador got busy with RL things I think.

JcFerggy: Do you and Luchador plan to keep working on the map? Maybe have something new for Beta 3?
Rusky: That's up to Luchador. I think he wanted to bring the elevator back and get it working properly but that is all I know of it.
If anyone has any additional questions, ask here and Rusky and I will try to answer them for you.

Nice,

be sure to work with luchador to port the map for beta 3 as well! That goes for all the community maps.

That way through our forums and wiki we can help promote these community works, both to the greater population of players and servers that will come up soon.

This interview initiate is encouraged for all community mappers! Get a hold of JC as he will interview you for your wiki level page (of course the better your page looks as far as info, the more people will get excited for it!) and post the interview here.
