SRCDS Help
« on: August 28, 2012, 04:35:25 pm »

I recently decided to install SRCDS(DOS box version) and change my CS:S Server over to that and I got everything working fine. I then wanted to get a Goldeneye:Source Server running on that same software and have managed to get a working server(somewhat). I'm able to connect to it and load a few bots by running the “ge_bot_threshold” witch is fine. But I’m curious if there is any way I can configure an autoexec.cfg file to automatically load my bots for me when I start the sever.

Does anyone have a new list of server command for 4.2? I’ve looked around and haven’t been able to find any. I would also like know what the new Weapons List is.

valve.rc has the ge_bot_threshold command in it already, which is set to 0. Change that, or add ge_bot_threshold to the server.cfg.

We're still working on documenting new 4.2 commands and such. Documentation is far from a fun task.

For weapons list, just look in: gesource\scripts\loadouts\weapon_sets_default.txt

i would also like to know where i can find the setting so my server automatically starts deathmatch mode
instead of some other random game mode. i dont mind tinkering with the other game play modes but i want it to start deathmatch mode by default every time.

edit your gameplaycycle.txt to have deathmatch 1st and then order the modes after to your liking

ok that issue has been fixed and my sever is set to "DeathMatch" everytime now.

now im wondering how i would set it to a certain map so i can play just the maps i like.

also, is there a way i can set bot names or create a "Prefix" like ive done with Counter Strike Source.

i know probably asking stupid questions, i just don't understand why this mod is so much hard to modify.

gesource/mapcycle.txt  for maps you want in rotation and gesource/scripts/bot_names for editing names

Also if you want your server to start on a certain map or mode edit your command line to do so
