I started working on this model this afternoon to get some more practice doing high poly modeling. It's from a game concept I've been working on in my free time. In 10 years when I have a ton of industry experience, I might end up trying to make it into an actual game or a mod. The weapons for this concept are based off of real world weapons, with slightly futuristic modifications. In this case, its based off of the Walther P99, with some style modifications, a built in laser sight, and .45 explosive ammunition.
It is 145k triangles, and will be used to create the normal map for the game mesh. All of the small details will be added using a detail normal map. Right click > view image for the full size.

Wow. That's really good.
If you ever do Nightfire: Source, that would definitely fit right in. :P
-
model is awesome. but nightfire made me hate the p99. such a lame and non-stylish gun with a terrible noise
-
I like it, P99 mixed with a Desert Eagle :o
-
as always it looks great, cant wait to see it finished

Here's the textured version. It's 1800 tris, 2048x1024 diffuse and normal. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, as I'm going to be sending it to someone important very soon.

woaaaaaah, that is one funky looking pistol. It looks fantastic!

That textured version is awesome! I really like all the futuristic modifications you've done to the Walther P99 (and it doesn't look cheesy).

Hot. Wouldn't look out of place in Deus ex.

There's actually already a nice P99 out there for Deus Ex. I made some icons for it a while back.
