I'm working on a script for a feature length action movie at the moment (and it will be better than compromised, rest assured), and I thought it would be good to experiment with effects to learn my limits.  This is a pretty neat 3 second video demonstrating muzzle flashes, bullet impacts, and spent brass.

It took 3 freakin hours to make this 3 second clip. But the next time around, it should only take 10 minutes.  Oh, and this is not the camera I will be using for the film itself obviously.  This is just a crappy miniDV i had laying around.

am i being stupid or does it look like you get shot (which explains the random blood on the wall that appears)

Yeah, I get shot, but it was an afterthought, which is why I don't flinch when it happens.  Also, dailymotion darkened the video, so its a little harder to see the spurt of blood from my side before it splatters on the wall.

Maybe use BrightCove (http://www.brightcove.com/) for your videos. Their quality is quite good.

I liked how the gunshot was reflected in the window.
