I havn't read into ge source at all really and i was wondering when the game will be made available to the public, and how much does half life 2 cost.

Goldeneye Source has been available since Christmast '05 to be exact  :P We're still coming out with new versions though, so the game is always evolving with new content.

The cheapest way to play Goldeneye Source would be through purchasing Half-Life 2 Deathmatch for $10, although I fully recommend getting Half-Life 2 for $20, it's an excellent game.
