Title: Arsenal and TDM - Translations needed
Post by: Troy on April 30, 2013, 04:02:59 am
I need the below lines translated in French, German, Italian, Polish, and Spanish.

Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_AR_ROUNDCOUNT" "Round: %s1 / %s2"
"GES_GP_AR_FINALROUND" "Final round!"
"GES_GP_AR_FINALWEAPON" "^y%s1 ^lis on the final weapon!"

German only
Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_TDM_FRAGS_LEFT" "%s1 ^1needs ^y%s2 ^1more frag."
"GES_GP_TDM_FRAGS_LEFT_P" "%s1 ^1needs ^y%s2 ^1more frags."

Current German
Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_TDM_FRAGS_LEFT" "%s1 ^1braucht ^y%s2 ^1weitere Frag%s3."

This will not work because my game mode is parsing two strings.  I need two different translations.

Thanks

German:

Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_AR_ROUNDCOUNT" "Runde: %s1 / %s2"
"GES_GP_AR_FINALROUND" "Letzte Runde!"
"GES_GP_AR_FINALWEAPON" "^y%s1 ^lhat die letzte Waffe!"

German only
Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_TDM_FRAGS_LEFT" "%s1 ^1braucht noch ^y%s2 ^1weiteren Abschuß."
"GES_GP_TDM_FRAGS_LEFT_P" "%s1 ^1braucht noch ^y%s2 ^1weitere Abschüsse."

If i understood that right, the first one is the singular (when only one more frag is needed) the second one is the plural (if there are still n frags left).
So why is there even a variable for that 1 kill left thing?

Here's french.

Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_AR_ROUNDCOUNT" "Manche: %s1 / %s2"
"GES_GP_AR_FINALROUND" "Dernière manche!"
"GES_GP_AR_FINALWEAPON" "^y%s1 ^lest a la dernière arme!"

@ namajnaG

I've looked at the french translation file, and every time a colon is used, there's a space before and after it.  Example:

Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_GUNGAME_LEVEL" "^lNiveau %s1 : ^y%s2"

For consistency, I think "GES_GP_AR_ROUNDCOUNT" should also have this.

@ Kraid

I need two translation because my code takes the scoreToWin (scoreToWin = Frag limit - team's score) and chooses between singular and plural.  So if the scoreToWin was 2 or more, it chooses "GES_GP_TDM_FRAGS_LEFT_P".  This will use, "Janus/MI6 needs 2+ (plural) more frags."  If it's 1, then it will choose "GES_GP_TDM_FRAGS_LEFT".  This will use, "Janus/MI6 needs 1 (singular) more frag."

In the previous German translation for the English

Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_TDM_GOAL_MANY" "The first team to score %s1 frags wins."
"GES_GP_TDM_GOAL_ONE" "The first team to score a frag wins."

German

Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_TDM_GOAL_MANY" "Das erste Team, das %s1 Frags erreicht, gewinnt."
"GES_GP_TDM_GOAL_ONE" "Das erste Team, das einen Frag erreicht, gewinnt."

Frags and Frag was used in the German translation.  If this is correct, can you update what you originally posted to use the words Frag and Frags again?

Kraid, I need you to fix the German translations.
Title: Re: Arsenal and TDM - Translations needed

Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_TDM_GOAL_MANY" "Das erste Team, das %s1 Abschüsse erreicht, gewinnt."
"GES_GP_TDM_GOAL_ONE" "Das erste Team, das einen Abschuß erreicht, gewinnt."

or

Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_TDM_GOAL_MANY" "Das erste Team mit %s1 Abschüssen gewinnt."
"GES_GP_TDM_GOAL_ONE" "Das erste Team mit einem Abschuß gewinnt."

I've gone through the German translation, and I've noticed there's four strings that were missed.  I need these translated now:

Code: [Select]
"GE_DONT_SHOW_HELP" "Don't show this help again"
"GE_PLAY" "Play"
"GES_GP_CTK_TOKEN_DROP" "You can drop the token in %s1 seconds!"
"GE_DisableHitSound" "Disable the hit confirmation sound"

Once I have these translated, the new language pack will be complete.

Code: [Select]
"GE_DONT_SHOW_HELP" "Diese Hilfe nicht mehr anzeigen."
"GE_PLAY" "Spielen"
"GES_GP_CTK_TOKEN_DROP" "Du kannst den Gegenstand in %s1 sekunden fallen lassen!"
"GE_DisableHitSound" "Soundeffekt bei Treffern deaktivieren"

and here's a suggestion for a change in the original:
Code: [Select]
"GES_GP_CTK_TOKEN_DROP" "You can drop the object in %s1 seconds!"
I wouldn't use the term token because a lot of ppl won't even know what a token is.

I tried both gamemodes some minutes ago, I liked both and I found no bugs.
Arsenal

I like this gamemode more than Gun Game because it have all the weapons except explosives. The gamemode is working right, the bots, like in any other mode are just stupid.
I will suggest to change something, though. If you are for example in level 7 and you press "Voodoo" key, I think it should show you the second page first, then the third one and hide (or after the third, show the first and then hide), so you don't have to wait to change the pages and see your next weapon.

Tournament DeathMatch

The problem is that the gamemode uses teamplay spawn points, so even if there's no "enemy radar" (you can only see the team mates), so spawn killing is very easy. Apart of that, the gamemode is good.

Spanish translation

The spanish translation is good now, but in Arsenal, when you press "x" for the gamemode info, in "Press your Voodoo key (G) to print the arsenal" it says (< NOT BOUND >) and not the bind you have.

In the Spanish file, %ge_cl_voodoo% was used instead of %cl_ge_voodoo%.  I've updated the above links.  Thank you.

I agree with you that the 4.2 version of Arsenal needs a new pagination system.  If you're on level 15, you shouldn't have to sit there and wait to see popup 1 and 2, just to see the final one.  I like what you have described because your system shows the weapons that are left.  In 4.1, the popups use to be able to show the entire arsenal in one window.  KM told me he was going to fix this so it's like 4.1 again.  I think he's going to increase the constraints so more text can be shown.

I thought of a new way to paginate Arsenal.  Instead of pressing g, and having it show the complete Arsenal, why not show the level you're on plus what's left?  For example, if you're on level 5 out of level 15 (15 would be the level a player would reach to win), it would show levels 5 - 14 when the player pressed voodoo.  Then I suppose when you won, the Arsenal window would be completely empty if you were to view it.  This would eliminate the problem with showing previous levels when you've already completed them.  This is how CS:GO operates and I think it's pretty good.

Good idea. Allthough i think the next 2-3 Level will be enough since you cannot recognize more then 7 things at once anyway.
Better to keep it short and simple. The actual level maybe bold, the two next levels and possibly the one level below your current one since your level might decrease by a knifekill.

I don't think you can bold things in the popup message window.

I was going to do it the way Troy suggested. The popup message will only show relevant information to the requester. Since we know the current level of the requestor, we can tailor our message based on that. The current level, the next 3-5 levels, and the FINAL level should be displayed. Obviously if they are within 5 levels of winning it will only show the next levels available.

Maybe you could make the popup window like this:

Level 1: Weapon
Level 2: Weapon
Level 3: Weapon
Level 4: Weapon
Level 5: Weapon
Level 18: Weapon

That would be 6 lines.  This might be a tough one to code.
