Title: Arsenal question
Post by: Troy on April 25, 2013, 05:03:41 am
I always thought it was kind of strange that Gun Game started the player off on level 1 and made his score 1.  Should Arsenal start the player off on level 0 and make his score 0 (this is how CS:GO works), or should I keep the old format of starting the player off on level 1 and making his score 1?

If we're talking about the classic idea of LEVEL, you'll always start on Level 1 not Level 0, if we're talking about points/score, you're always starting at zero.

So it ultimately depends on if the number in the scoreboard should reflect Level or score.
I'd have the player start on level 1 with the score 0.

Meaning your mode would display Level 1: Weaponname on the HUD but write a score of 0 in the scoreboard.

If I were to do it that way, the level wouldn't reflect the player's score.

That's what i'm saying. Level != score
There's no Level 0 in any game, but you always start with score 0.

The level should reflect the player's score.
