Hi,
Qubodup (a Freesound.org forum member) suggested this idea when he replied to a question I asked in this website's forum:
Freesound.org Forum Post Source (http://www.freesound.org/forum/legal-help-and-attribution-questions/33691/?page=1#post66871):
Rant: I would really love a 'credits' mode to be implemented in a game, where there would be a text connected via a line to every texture, 3d model etc with author info. the same could be done with sounds while it is played...
Qubodup has created an image to illustrate his idea: http://www.flickr.com/photos/qubodup/8673943131/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/qubodup/8673943131/)

Not sure why this would be needed. If intellectual rights are necessary for people it can be embedded in the texture's VMT file (which is text based) or in the sound's meta data (which we already do).
As far as GE:S is concerned, you lose your individual rights when you commit to this project (from an official standpoint, NOT community content). The team owns the team's work. Every developer we have on the team knows this.
We give credit in meta data where it makes sense to do so (like in music files) and the level designers leave their mark in some fashion in the form of an easter egg.
All of our python code is going to be covered under the GNU GPL v3 in v4.2.3.
Edit:
Upon reading the forum post, I recommend that you simply include the credits in your help display or embedded within the Python code somehow. You could also respond to a "OnPlayerSay" command if someone types "!credits" it would spill out the credit information on their chat display.

I don't like this idea at all.
Not only it's not suitable for GES, but i cannot think of any game that would benefit from such a feature.

Yea, that looks like hell.
