Title: Steam Big Picture Alternatives
Post by: Kratos on March 09, 2013, 07:34:08 pm
I am wondering if there are any Steam Big Picture alternatives if anyone was aware of. Something like XBMC, but only for games. You can add Windows games to your list and add box arts, descriptions, Disc cover arts, etc.

Opensource would be nice.

Steam big picture is about the gayest thing i have ever read about. Do they not understand that you can just plug your HDMI cable into the tv and use the desktop layout....Plus having to get used to an new layout is ridiculous. Such a waste of time if you ask me.

"Big Picture" is basically a preview of Valve's upcoming stand-alone box that they are making centered around Steam. It makes a lot of sense if you are using a controller or remote control and not a mouse/keyboard.

It's nice when you don't have to get off the couch and double click another game.exe off the desktop. I use my PS3 dualshock controller and find it easy to navigate to other games. Plus you can add Nonsteam games and I also figured out you can add the Title image of the game too.
