My uncle bought a brand new Saturn Vue Hybrid in 2009, He does 300KM of road per day every week days to get to work and back home, And he didn't change his oil in two months or so... Guess what happened to his new car's engine, Hah.

I change mine every 3K miles and frequently check the oil level.  My engine doesn't have any pistons, can you guess what it is?   ;)

I change my oil twice a year. Put thicker oil in during summer, and thinner in winter. I don't drive enough to need to change oil a lot. I could odds are go a year with one change, definitively if used synthetic.

That is why I just get my mechanic to do it for me. At least I am not one of those girls that waits until it is broke.
