Title: Will GE:S run on this computer?

I got a new computer recently, and wanted to know if it would run this before I buy an internet hookup for it (Which I probably still will but ya know.)

Here are the specs:

Microsoft Windows XP
Professional
Version 2002
Service pack 3

Dell Dimension DIM9100
Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
2.99 GHz. 3.50 GB of RAM

CPU wise your really low. But also need to know the GPU.

As of these stats, you MIGHT get away with low gfx.

Do you need the graphics card? If so, (ATI) RADEON X300 Series

I got for free from someone. It was supposed to be a sony viaos then I go this

You might be able to run on low with that card/cpu combo. It will be pushing it. A 800x600 maybe 1024x768 low graphics might be doable.

I used to run GE:S (Alpha/Beta 1) on Medium on a Pentium 4 3.2GHz with an ATI Radeon 9200 and 512MB ram
1280x1024
Average 30FPS
So you should most likely get away on low detail with a 45-ish framerate, I think your card is superior too.

That'd be great! I usually only get games to run at 30 or higher FPS anyways ;)

Make sure to disable heatwave effects on explosions and dynamic lights on explosions in the advanced multiplayer options, too. (Options>Multiplayer>advanced options)
Adding -dxlevel 80 in the launch options of GES might also be a good idea.
(in steam, right-click on GES>properties>launch options)

First system I ran GES (Beta 1.x) on was a 2.6 GHz Celeron (2.2 GHz P4 equivalent) with integrated graphics and 512 MB RAM. Avg. 10 FPS on Cradle. Source is very scalable, with the settings down you should be able to run the game alright.

My PC specs are: Intel Pentium 4 3,2 GHz HT, 2,5 GB RAM, MSI nVidia GeForce 8800 gts 512 OC, and OS Windows 7 Gamer Edition x64 (modded Win7).
I run GE:S Maxed out at 40-60 FPS. on Cradle 40.

i WILL get new computer when it's my birthday in Nov 30th.
Specs: AMD Phenom II X4 BE 3,4 GHz, 8 GB RAM. and Gigabyte GeForce GTX 550 Ti OC and my current GPU.

So basically. You're PC can run it on medium without AA
