i was wondering since its 17 days till Halloween will there be any cool GE Source events to celebrate
this celebration
i would think having an awesome halloweenish map or a spooky map (like Aztec or Siberia) with the live and let die gamemode would be an awesome idea but what do you guys think?

Sounds like a good idea, we just need somebody to edit the maps. I think there's a night version of Cradle somewhere.

Well Cy's Funhouse is a good canidate, Siberia would make a good halloween map if Cssaint01 could make the sky darker like in Surface #2 and maybe add a more howling wind...i think that Egyptain with a dark sky and sinister music would be flawlessly awesome :)
i think there is Luna Cradle but the map itself is missing a few textures though

If I get enough time and config my hammer up again, I'll see if I can wrap up Halloween special Cradle.

Maybe ES could make a version with pumpkins, ghosts and a full moon?
I was just thinking the same thing Troy, the moon could have a creepy face, or the moon could be a pumpkin. Also you could have fake ghosted GE:S players to freak out and scare the real players, that would be proper freaky.

I think having Egyptian with a Halloween theme would be cool! An idea for a Halloween based gamemode would be to have Baron act as Slender man just stalking anyone in his radius, and once he kills you with his knife you're dead. That would be fun! :)

Oh sure, reprogramming the whole game just for Halloween. XD

If you wanna contribute something for a Halloween event, please post some pumpkin faces.
Draw them by hand, with Photoshop or even cut them into a pumpkin and take a photo (a sheet of paper with your forum name next to it. No Pictures you found on the internet please).
This is only about the actual face on the pumpkin, so don't go to crazy with the pumpkin shape.
Would be also cool if you can provide a clean and possibly undistorted b/w image on a good resolution.
I also gladly take vector formats such as .ai
Deadline is the 27th of October.
The best 3 entries will be used as props.

Siberia would make a good halloween map if Cssaint01 could make the sky darker like in Surface #2

Usually Halloween pumpkins have scarry faces cut into them, so you should stick to silhouettes.
Also this should look like it's possllible to cut it into a real pumpkin, so no tiny dots, thin lines or free floating shell parts with no attachment to the rest of the pumpkin.

shhhh Valve might be reading this and then will decided to bring out a pumpkin hat for TF2..
but yeah a spooky cradle (or Egyptian if i could pick one) with players or bots will be awesome especially for Australian players as Halloween isnt recognised as an event in the country...
By the way should we post images for the contest on the facebook page aswell...if it makes things easier Kraid?

sorry Kraid i have been very busy with renovations and Tafe work so sadly i havent came up with anything
though i think the image of the mask from The Haunted Mask would make an awesome pumpkin...

Allright allthough noone contributed faces for my pumpkins, i threw together a few of them anyway.

They're prop_physics, so server admins can add them to their prop spawn scripts.
Pumpkin 1 has two skins and still place for two more left.... just in case.
Pumpkin 2 is a nasty one, because it explodes when shot.

Yep! It already has a snowman, just stick some christmas lights and decorations on the trees and turn the wooden crates into presents.
Oh... And of course it would need a christmasy bond theme.

An event for Christmas would be pretty cool alright. Hopefully by then my exams will be out of the way and I'll have a little more time for the mod than at present
