My MSI nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS 512 OC broke down....blue lines over the screen.
then i found an tutorial on eHow. i shoved my GPU into oven on 385 degrees F covered on foil...
AND IT FUCKING WORKS XD ;D It's actually a bit better than my ATI Radeon 4850 HD....
lol Google. My best friend :)
It's funny that you can fix a GPU by baking it. :o amazing!
It was obviously an bad soldering. the heat ''reflowed'' the bad solder and it cooled back together.

My friend and I did this with his 8800gtx and it didnt work. I guess we didnt have the temp too high.
Tasty huh?

I had a friend who had a Dell Inspiron laptop with Nvidia graphics that he had to send in three times to get repaired under warranty.
After the warranty expired, the GPU died again. Instead of sending it back in for an outrageous fee, he simply cooked the whole motherboard (with the soldered-on GPU) in the oven and it worked again like magic.
Not really sure how it doesn't damage/melt anything else, but hey if it works then sweet stuff.

Yeah.....the GPU lasted 5 days and then at game: HARDWARE MALFUNCTION:
NML MEMORY PAIRING ERROR! System will halt. The GPU xploded. *facepalm*
i heated it in oven for 385 Degrees F for 4 mins. worked a day. then it RIGHT NOW XPLODED AGAIN!! >:(
I heated it on same temp for 8 mins and works......THIS FAR! lol

you know, all of this could have been solved if you just got an XFX brand card. They all have lifetime warranties if you register the card with the website so its no worries about the card dying. You just ship it back and they send you another one. Problem solved.

Yes all problems was caused by overheating problem. the gpu never speed up the fan over 30%. now i downloaded MSI Afterburner. fan now auto adjusts, gpu is on full load at 50-60 degrees celsius. and i overclocked core to 701 MHz and memory to 1 gb. works awesome and no probs! ;D
