Title: iPhone Microphones
Post by: TriDefiance on September 23, 2012, 05:51:57 am
I've been into filming/editing ever since I first used Windows Movie Maker. I've been recording with the iPhone's Camera and Microphone for quite some time now, and I'm not satisfied with the built-in mic. So, I've been thinking about buying a shotgun microphone for the iPhone. I found a few nice/cheap ones on eBay that i thought could potentially work.

The problem is, will it work by just connecting it to the headphone jack?

As long as it interfaces with a 3 banded plug, then yes.

The iPhone doesn't provide 48V of phantom power for a condenser mic, so make sure it's a dynamic microphone.
