Title: Running GES on a virtual machine
Post by: rufuspoofus on August 09, 2012, 04:08:06 am
I am running GES on a virtual Windows 7 install on my mid-2009 Macbook Pro.  But it is lagging like hell; my machine has a GeForce 9400M 256 MB video card; and I have designated 2 Gb of RAM to my virtual machine but it is still incredibly choppy even with everything set to low.

Is there something wrong with my install or is my machine not powerful enough to run the mod?

Your machine is not powerful enough to run this mod, I'd highly recommend upgrading both your machine and graphics card. Most games nowadays require 1GB+ Graphic Cards.

A virtual machine doesnt have access to the hardware and instead it goes through a virtual driver. This will mean you will never get any were near the performance out of your hardware on the VM. Your lucky the game even runs at all!

Can always try bootcamp.
