Title: [Issue] Uninstaller
Post by: Troy on August 09, 2012, 03:10:27 am
You would think after two years, the registry string would be fixed so people could uninstall 4.2 from the control panel. :-\

You know i was confused on how to uninstall 4.1. I checked the add/remove and it wasnt in there. I do remember being there when ges was 4.0 or something? idk.

So i then downloaded revo uninstaller and still, it wasnt there. I ran 4.2 client installer and bam there was a uninstaller already built in. Thank you KM.

Oh guys, try this software out called Search everything. http://www.voidtools.com/

It indexes your entier c: in seconds and it immediately displayes the search results as you type. Its fucking works great!

I did notice that alright when uninstalling 4.1, but to be fair there was an uninstaller already there in the sourcemods folder in Steam. I assume it's the same with 4.2 so there shouldn't really be a need to remove it using the Add/Remove Programs feature in the Control Panel

This was missed. The problem is the registry accepts ":" in the string definition (of course) but windows file names cannot have ":" in them.

It will be fixed with the new installer.

No Mangley.  GE:S adds registry keys and the uninstaller removes them.
