Source Filmmaker, the tool used to create every single trailer, Meet the Team video, and intro sequence for Valve, is being released in beta form along with the release of Meet the Pyro. It looks SICK!

Now if only they would properly document their Eye shaders on the Valve Developer Wiki maybe people could actually use it.

From now, YouTube will be flooded by videos made with this software by talentless people.

-
As opposed to the flood of videos using fraps and gmod over the years, by as talentless people? hehehheeh

-
Well yes, but it is a new toy...and people like that. They then try and gain "inspiration" from it. It's just like when the first person made a Minecraft video...EVERYONE had to make one and they are all the same.

Just saying this is all we are going to see on YouTube for a while.

Nice tool, might be usefull for a lot of things.
Now valve finally needs to update their file import pipeline to use .fbx as a native import format for models and animations and everyone will be happy.

Clearly this must be used to make a trailer for GES. Best used for the version after 4.2.

is it possible for GES to be used in Source Filmmaker?

All signs point to yes.  Bass has access and has made some really shitty videos :D

It's an open beta now, anyone can use it.

I guess it's a matter of copy and past some files.
I don't think the mod mounting feature is included yet, so there cannot be actual gameplay footage used for editing.

				Q. Does the SFM work with other Valve Source games and mods?
At this time, the SFM is only being released for Team Fortress 2. Users familiar with modding with the Source engine will be able to mod the SFM build of TF2 to create new worlds.

I have a slight suspicion that support for other games will be limited to official releases and the Steam-supported mods and everyone else will have to find a way around the system.
