Why break something that was already fixed before?

That's exactly the kind of person Microsoft needs to hire as an internal beta tester.

I'm really surprised Microsoft has yet to have a startup dialog that asks your computing proficiency and then adjust the amount of hand holding the os provides for doing simple tasks.

Yeah I ran W8 for a couple days... pretty useless. Sure would be nice on a tablet, but only way they will make this anywhere successful is to add option to disable the UI.

You could turn off the Touch UI on the developer Preview, but the hack is missing on Consumer version.

I mean with the touch desktop monitors these days the touch ui will be useful for more than tablets. I think that's where MS is aiming their sights. Remember, these guys design a UI and a code base for two years BEYOND delivery. Look how well Windows 7 holds up (STILL) and XP for that matter. This is something Apple can never touch because they have zero experience with OEM's.
