Title: Won't load.

When I try to launch GE:S I get the loading screen, then the screen with the "company" and game info, but at this point my computer makes the error *bonk* noise and nothing happens, no error or anything. To shut it down I have to blindly use TaskManager to end the app (it doesn't show up in front of GE:S). Am I doing something wrong or will it just not run on my computer? I am running on a NetBook with a 1.6 ghz or something single thread processor, and 1.5 gb of mem and Win Xp.

Yeah sounds like your computer.

Have you ever tried any other Source games? HL2, TF2, etc...

Not on my netbook. GE:S runs fine on my desktop though.

You gotta be more specific, what are your system specs on your netbook? Sounds to me that your graphics card isn't powerful enough.

I listed everything my notebook has related to processing. I don't know how I can get more specific. Uhh... a 120 GB hard-drive, 3 usb ports, 2 mem card readers, and no gfx card.

There is no net book that will play really any modern games. I've loaded GE:S on a net book, it worked but was about 5 fps.

Every pc has a graphics card or you wouldnt be able to play games or watch videos.

You could simply just google your netbook's model number in google  and find the specs, link the site here and we could do all the work.

Yeah usually that'd be some onboard chip by Intel which means you could do some standard office stuff and watch some low res youtube videos, but already HD videos would give it some trouble. Wouldn't rely on it for gaming, but like osaeed2k9 said, there's a slim chance to get it working somehow...  of course not in all its beauty and with some fps-issues.

P.S.: on really old computers, the processor would handle the graphics - just saying ;-)

He still wouldn't get an enjoyable experience, just play on your desktop.
