Title: [issue]"hard Flooding" banned ? :(

I used to play GoldenEye source back when it was a beta, just installed a fresh clean install.


Went to join a server, loads everythings fine except when im about to pick my character, the preview video of the character is all messed and 3 seconds later I get
booted from the server?


with a message that i've "hard flooded" you are banned for two days?


and then the game crashed? :-(


anybody know what could of gone wrong?

Which server? and do you have a punch of binds?

Whatever server you were on had the Forlix FloodCheck plugin installed.  Hard flooding is when a player floods the server with hundreds of console commands per second, knowingly or unknowingly.  There are some scripts that will do the same console command at such an alarming rate, it will crash the server.

Yep same here. Joined a server went to character select and got kicked immediately for "hard flooding" thinking it was a mistake, I rejoined and got banned for 2 days. I just installed it and didn't change anything other than some key binds and rates... I even took a screenshot.

What he said. It's the decision of the server owner oder server admin to ban you from their server.
Besides, just out of curiousity, to what values did you change which rates? Did you bind aliases as well?

I'd like to know which server this is happening to you on?  The [-QA-] server has this plugin installed and I have seen people get kicked or banned for hard flooding.

The Forlix FloodCheck plugin has been removed from the [-QA-] server.  Players will no longer be kicked or banned for hard flooding.

The auto bans were only for two days so they will be cleared.  Sorry to those who were banned that were not purposely flooding the server.
