Title: Playstation Vita
Post by: Kratos on June 11, 2011, 01:33:54 am
“I’m just going to keep calling it the NGP. Vita sounds like a drink you’d buy at a hippy bar.” –  Randy Pitchford

lol

But dudes, its a amazing console. Has all the goodies, a lot more than the regular psp, dsi, 3ds and the price is great.

Im defintely going to get it.

What about you fellas? Anyone picking it up too? The Wii U looks like a stretched 3ds. Its ugly!

Personally, I am not a big fan of handheld consoles, But after seeing the Wii-U... Damn, It looks terrible.
If I had a choice, I'd go for this one even if I don't know much about its features, I'm pretty sure it could come handy, Rather than owning a Nintendo brand product, But I'll pass on this one.
(Except a SNES and a N64, Of course.)

Urgh. Notice how every hand held thing that comes out lately is just an itteration of the last model with an added gimmick. When will people get over touch screens, motion control and 3D?

Just wait, I bet the next iPad / iPhone will try to do some 3D thing.

The touchpad on the back is really what has me scratching my head with this thing. I also don't do much mobile gaming of any kind (unless moving a laptop from one location to another counts), so it really doesn't grab me any more than previous handhelds.

Would you guys agree that NGP looks more sexy than 3ds? I think so.

yes, Wii U looks horrible and its so freaking big, how can one call that portable gaming? Looks like a weighing scale or something lol.

The PSP design has always looked nicer, but uh, the WiiU looks like an 360, so no I wouldn't say it's portable. The controller looks like a tablet with buttons and grips.

Dear lord, I'm not the only one who thought that? Thank you! I'll probably still call it the NGP or something of the like, because if I say "Vita", I'll just think of pita bread. After that, I'll just get hungry and my day will be ruined indefinitely. The system itself on the other hand looks incredible and especially for the price. I probably won't get one for many years personally. It's just another system to tack on games that will never be finished.

On crack.

how can one call that portable gaming?
Indeed, especially since it's the controller and not a handheld.

I love my game gear.

I had a game gear, and then I was able to upgrade to a gameboy color, and at the time I couldn't figure out why my game gear games didn't also fit with my new gameboy.

Speaking as an iPod Touch owner, touch screen gaming is OK for something like Angry Birds, but it will never be a replacement for actual controls.
