8 servers being played on as im writing this. Very exciting to see this amount of people playing Goldeneye Source. The most I ever saw on Beta 4 was 2 or 3 with people on.
-
17 right now, Including two with a limit of 24 players which are almost full!
Also if this mod is the MOTY this will boost up the number of players too, First or not.
-
31 servers actually. If your server list isn't displaying servers with 0 players you should make sure maplist is unchecked and do a full refresh.
-
Give it a few weeks.

get out...we don't need negative attitude from you right now. Go play some more TF2
-
I really hope it wins the Mod Of The Year, it deserves it. Don't think Rare and Nintendo could have done any better themselves, this is more like a retail game than a mod, and whoever's responsible for that Casino map is very talented indeed, I reckon he'll go a long way in this business, makes my Doom 3 maps look dull.

Very impressive indeed! Let's hope we keep this.
-
Its the truth, choir boy, haven't played TF2 in over 2 weeks, please try to pay attention. Whats going on now thats seems to be so stressful?
Ok, we have already talked about this on steam and I don't want to change the topic of this tread. The start of the flame war ends here on the forums. I have already expressed to you my thoughts from your post.
-
Break it up, do something useful and promote our mod by getting rid of empty servers!
Get in and see the players flock in.
-
Look at the moddb stats:

I wonder who the ref is
-
It's kotaku AND reddit. Where we got on frontpages. Turns out the interwebs did my PR for me.
-
I´ve never seen so many people on the servers enjoing the fun of the game. it´s really amazing, the team has done a fantastic work. the whole package of new gameplay elements, animations, textures and sound is extraordinary. the game never felt so spirited and vivid before. all of us should ensure that this feeling will stay as long as possible

What ever happened to digg?
-
They Dug them selves a hole... To many revisions to the site design has driven people away.
-
I always thought digg was the better branding, more cool place to be, and sleek site design. But I guess they tried to reinvent it too much like enzo says.
-
digg got REAL dumb with their site redesign and pulled a myspace where no one wants to go there anymore.
reddit became a refugee camp after the redesign and its the hot place now for internet info. its bascically where half the content on Gizmodo and kotaku comes from.
-
I saw a 32 player server earlier. And if that fact alone wasn't bad enough, it was actually full. o_O
-
ONE MILLION views on Moddb, Good Job Team!
-
A couple weeks ago I thought I was the Bomb-Diggy... but I've been royally slaughtered by players who are new or have been MIA. :'(
-
I wonder; if we had released the video on time, would it have had any effect?
-
quite you ^ :p The render failed last night. Will be trying again tonight.

Much love Enzo, you know that.
I think dropping a video, even now, will pique people's interest if they're on the fence.
-
*cough* I think because we didnt pimp me out to the media gods in our benefit. *cough*
-
*cough* public thread *cough*

(So far) you guys have only released awesomeness. Absolutely fantastic shit...
You download it and you go like "OMG THATS FUCKING AWESOME" But after a while the excitement turns into the desire to play more maps, have this and that, and feeling that you don't have it. And then it wears off because you know that you guys are working on something better.
So are you guys going to make content updates from now on? I thought I read about that some time ago on this forum... I hope it is more frequent (and smaller) so you can keep the excitement going and grow the userbase faster so we can all keep enjoying this epic mod.
-
v4.1 is a huge step forward in being able to do content updates because there is an internal update checker embedded in the main menu ui.
If we post a client side update we can push the notice to everyone that starts up the game. The notice includes a link to the changelog and download links right inside the game.

I must hi-five whoever came up with that. When I first read about it, I was like, "Hmmmm? What a fantastic idea."
So yeah, you guys have set this Mod to steamroll right along. :)
-
I was our bakcup plan since Desura or Steam do not want to support us.
-
Steam cannot for obvious reasons. Desura doesn't care about secret agent people.
-
Would Valve/Steam really get heat and/or get sued for hosting you on Steam?
-
It's more about professional courtesy than fear of legal ramification.
They have business ties to a lot of the companies that own Goldeneye64 rights. They wouldn't be sending a nice message to those people to be just hosting us when we don't have permissions for the IP. They would likely get asked to stop hosting us, and it would be bad for us and them PR wise to have that happen.
And, we don't want to be on steam, since mods on steam must follow a whole bunch of steps and rules. Being on steam is NOT as simple as our files being hosted on there and our achievements being trackable. There is more and it's not all good.
-
I'm really glad to know the news to be honest. i don't really play much on my computer these days, but still glad to know people enjoy goldeneye source, you guys still do a great good. =)
