You could also destroy ammo boxes.

Ah what fun that was.


Destroying armor has more a practical purpose than ruining ammo (you just fire a shot off to pick up more ammo, can't do that with armor)


Also on the subject of unreplicated game mechanics, where's my straferunning?

Straferunning is replaced with wall running

Destroyable armor was conscientiously not put into the game for gameplay reasons (more than 4 players).

I have to agree, the decision to not allow shooting-to-destroy pickups was a good idea. We are dealing with the internet, and more than 4 players. That could be an easily cheap way to destroy fun as opposed to armor. We'd rather avoid.

Maybe the devs could create a code for that — like ge_paintball (0/1) —, but I guess it's just too minor.

Yeah, Wall running.
Basically, You strafe on the wall.
It incerases your speed by aroun 10% of your normal speed.
