Title: Randomly Banned from WNx
Post by: terps4life90 on October 31, 2010, 12:38:55 pm
I was getting ready to play goldeneye today and i connected to a server and apparently i was banned from a cheating infraction? Yeah that's bullshit, people know that I dont cheat. Is there a way to fix this?

Try WNx forums, I'm not sure if anyone can help you here.

Warriornation.net if I'm correct.

The information you're providing is incomplete, as it seems.
As you your profile on ges-stats shows the ban (http://www.ges-stats.com/hlstats.php?mode=playerinfo&player=32799),
yet the ban is not serverside (http://cp.ges-stats.com/index.php?p=banlist&advSearch=STEAM_0:0:30866032&advType=steamid&Submit) since atm you're not banned from WNx,
but rather you're having some issues with VAC (http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198021997792) which you'd have if you tried some program on a VAC server, even if it's not in GE: S. If you're 100% sure you didn't do anything wrong try contacting the Steam support.

Valve has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating and will not lift VAC bans under any circumstances.

Sorry dude, you have a VAC ban. This is permanent. The only way to play source games is to join a non-VAC server (no shield) or buy all your games again.

VAC detects client side modifications to DLL's or programs running the background that manipulate memory address's while you play. There is no way to get VAC banned by mistake (although it has happened, but Valve recognized their fault).

I guess there's a way to get the result by mistake - by being so dumb as to run a memory test application shifting the RAM's content while trying to play. Yet no one with just a bit of common sense would try to do that.

Other than that Valve's stating there are people writing untrustworthy mods registering and loading DLLs onto your system - but I doubt you'll ever come across one if you're sticking to the moddb because people would complain right there on the mod's page. As for phising you know you've gotta be aware with almost every account data on the net and internet cafés shouldn't be used unless they've got proper security.

Yeah VAC2 ban there. You could play normal CS if you got it, and normal DOD and any mod on goldsource.

But your modern Multi-play on that account is all over. Just buy hl2dm on a new account and don't let anyone play on your account and/or dont hack on other games because mods aren't possible to play with VAC bans in place, like you discovered here.

People actually pay for hacks?
Pathetic.
