Hey I need some strategy tips for the normal multiplayer on the Nintendo 64 console. And help is appreciated or any websites with information about the game would also be good.
-
The only tip I can give you is 1v1 spawn camping doesn't work for multiple reasons.
1. There is a small invul time to stop the spawn camp, and in LTK would just mean he has time to shot you instead and your shot does nothing.
2. The maps are large and it is built so you shouldn't spawn near another player.
The spawns are in fixed locations but the order of where you spawn in is random. So sorry you actually need skill to win in our game.

So sorry you actually need skill to win in our game.
True that. But low latency and a good mouse will also help to boost your skill.
As well as knowing the weapon and armor spawn places, fire in bursts or single shot, aim fot the head (well... some things are not that vital in LtK).
Last but not least i disable music for seriouse gaming and use a good headset, that way you can hear the oponent especially on 1:1 matches.
If you pay attention to the different door sounds you get an idea of where he could be and ambush him at a tactical good position.
-
Any advice is appreciated!
-
Good luck with that, seems like you have more to lose in terms of the wager. I can only suggest finding your preferred weapon within each weaponset for LTK and playing it careful especially if you take the lead.
-
Always try to find weapons with good accuracy/firerate - so even if you mess up the first shot, you'll have a good enough chance to hit with your next before you get hit. Most pistols work well (except for AuG and Magnum of course), RCP 90 is easymode. Just don't try to use the DK5 too much as well as the shotguns - long distance shots hitting your target 100% with them are nearly impossible. You even might use proximity mines, but stay away from the other mines, also from grenades and the grenade/rocket launchers bear a high risk of killing oneself in LTK.
And shoot whenever you see a single pixel of your enemy, even if he's running away unknowing you're behind him chances are you'll lose him or he turns around before you get a chance to kill him, so giving away your position isn't that much of a deal.
Next keyword is: bullet penetration. Learn which weapon can penetrate what and use it to your advantage - doors, windows, everything might be useful. (also the sound of a door opening will help - he'll likely pass through it a moment later -> in Facility there's two doors in a row, you might hear him and shoot through yours)
And last but not least: weapon/ammo pickup sounds, weapon/ammo spawns. If you're just two people on the map you'll always know when you hear the sound that he's nearby, when you don't see the supply where it should be that he passed this spot. You might also want to try and avoid picking up ammo yourself if you have enough (and in LTK that's usually after picking up the weapon + max 1 ammo crate), hiding your trails.
Shooting at random to lure him to you should only be used when you're confident in yourself.

Or he could just watch the other guys screen...

so no cheap kill advice?

The dev team did everything to prevent cheap killing.
Only practice will make you suceed.

so no cheap kill advice?
Go and unplug the other guy's mouse and keyboard or shut off his monitor via some remote...
-
my advice: get totally drunk and shoot the hell out of your friends. imagine you´re a maniac with bloodlust and scare the shit out of your friends.
Go and unplug the other guy's mouse and keyboard or shut off his monitor via some remote...
haha! this is also a very good advice ;D

Aim for the head...

I am playing on a N64. There is no keyboard or mouse. Ok, this website is called goldeneye source so I assumed it was the right place. Is this website STRICTLY dedicated to a modded version of Goldeneye? If so does anyone have any knowledge of a place with the Original Goldeneye information. Forum or otherwise. Thanks.
-
Well, we're not strictly talking about the mod, but I think everyone thought you were talking about it in your first post, before you edited it right when you posted your last one.
Well, turn off autoaim for both players and play as Oddjob will get you cheap kills....
Also remember by pressing the sidestep buttons (C-left and C-right per default) while aiming you'll strafe from your cover, letting go will bring you back to your default position. You even might want to kneel and shoot the feet of your opponent (press Aim and C-down and let go simultaneously) while being harder to hit yourself. As said before knowing which weapons can penetrate glass or doors will help you a lot - spamming Moonraker through doors and stuff sure is helpful.
If you own a Source game (Counterstrike: Source, Half Life 2 or such) you'll might want to give this mod a try after all.
Here's what this mod is about:

Speed-strafing is also key. (Forward + C-left/right = running)
-
Yeah I can do all the speed strafing, crouching, bullet penetration. Years back I beat every level on 007 and unlocked Every cheat with the level times.
I noticed the AR-33 doesn't shoot through the glass in the Facility. Does the magnum or any other weapon do so? The AR will shoot through and make a bullethole on the other side of the glass, but it won't hit the person, it goes right through them. Also in the facility when you are on the second floor outside the bathroom where there is a weapon spawn you can be shot from the first floor through the ground with any weapon. I killed him with a distovi when he was up there. Do you guys know of any other glitched out areas like that, or any other glitches that even though they may be very situational, may prove useful at times?
I'm running through all of the maps so I know where the power weapons spawn as well as the best way to go from area to area.
-
Anyone have any ideas of how to practice aim? Training drills, etc. Perhaps youtube channel with expert play? Also, I believe in a few days I will have all the resources to play goldeneye 64 online via Mugen. Would any of you be up for some games? Thanks guys.

is there any other way?
-
Cruise Control + C-buttons ~
-
is there any other way?
I was worried that'd be misconstrued.
Depends on your control scheme. (I use 1.2 Solitaire, so C-up + C-left/right)
-
Yo, So. Anyone wanna play online then? Classic Goldeneye.
-
For real. I'll pwn any y'all.

Ok man, we get the point. You've stressed it more than enough. Where we do love to dabble in GoldenEye 64, we are mainly interested in GoldenEye: Source (Especially in online multiplayer). I suggest you search for a dedicated GE64 online forum (Allow me (http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=Goldeneye+64+online+multiplayer)).
Your posts are extremely confusing in that they do not preface which version you are referring to. Also, please do not spam the board with repeat nonsensical posts. kthxbi.

Calm down bro. You can cut that all down to "please don't spam" and not show how big a douche you are. I dunno though, when I put it all in one post you guys don't seem to follow it very well. Must be in the water. Furthermore. Asking if you WANT to play online and telling you you will only LOSE are two different things. So by asking politely if anyone wants to play, clearly it doesn't sound like much of a challenge. However, making sure you know that ima wax that azz increases the odds of you playing. If separate, but linked ideas about the same topic are considered spam then that's all any forum on the internet is. It seems to me you are just looking to diss me because I don't play your game. It's cool tho, I still like ya. Wish you might grow up a bit though!
-
And Also Killermonkey. You want to call me out for nonsense when people are posting simpsons videos and trolling about the klobb? If you gunn' call someone out you should at least make sure you are level about it. For example. I am calling you out for calling me out inappropriately. And I'm calling you ALL out because I know I'll probably beat you guys who don't actually play Goldeneye. Why would I have any reason other than to think I'll just pwn you all every time? You guys don't even play the game...
-
I would stop if i were you, or someone will let KM out of his cage and you'll be in real trouble :P
If you want to antagonize someone with obnoxious challenges regarding Goldeneye 007 go find a forum for that purpose. This forum is for everything regarding Goldeneye: Source, a fan made re-envisioning of the original, so its hardly appropriate.
That is of course unless you want to challenge us to a game of GE:S? Then im sure we can all oblige and wipe the floor with your ass :P
-
Someone above said spawns are random on the original N64 game which is somewhat true. If you play multiplayer enough you'll be able to guess the spawn location 95% of the time. It seemed like the game would typically spawn your opponent on the opposite side of the map. As soon as you kill the dude haul ass towards the other side of the map and if you are swift you should be able to spawn kill them. After awhile it's like intuition. Some maps are just too big but you can easily do this on Basement. You gotta know how to strafe run though or you'll never make it. You gotta be accurate too or pimps like me when spawn up and kill yo ass then run the table on you :)

I see four different points in his post.

He can do whatever he wants to do. I'm just defending myself because I don't think he was fairly going after me. And ass for wiping the floor with my ass? See, now I am actually 10 times more likely to play you. Quick question, is it more like bond and more difficult to aim or did it take on the new-age more seamless handling of the sight?

All of which except for googling a GE64 forum have been addressed. Which is obviously how I found this place.. The Goldeneye: SOURCE. It seems like you guys re-inventing everything would make you know it inside and out upfront. So speaking with the developers seems like it would be my best bet.

Nice. Yeah I have noticed that if you kill someone and get TOO close to the next spawn site then it will skip that one and go to the next. Honestly after spending about 30 minutes on every map it seems like spawn kills can be easily done 4/5 times. I don't think the spawns are random to be honest. With that said I'm just looking for glitches like shooting through floors. And also good spots to hit explosions when they are on the other side of the wall.

I'm gonna sneak in for a quick post, Re-inventing everything from the source perspective. this game is closer to the original goldeneye than any re-make/invent mod i've ever seen. this is not like the Wii version of goldeneye with iron sights, pistol whipping.. this is GE:64 on a Source Engine. The Aiming is the same.. hit a button to have the aimer come up or leave it be with a no-crosshair screen.. no hud, nothing new-age here which is why we can be passionate about what we do here.. because GE:64 is a classic and we're elitists.. the only things that arent 100% re-made from scratch and that we're changed is because that their is a-lot more going on in GE:S matches instead of sitting in a small room with 4 people raping eachother there is 20+ people.
Honestly[fuck yeah my favorite word], I didn't really read much of any posts here.. just wanted to throw my imo input. I'd stay as far away from trying to judge us as possible.

^ Yeah, obviously if you guys can do such amazing things with a game then you can do other sht on a computer too. I just don't don't think that because I am the new guy it means I should get called out every time. If you guys REALLY want to hack me then that's fine. I don't really care because this isn't even my computer. I don't own one. This is how I approach most situations: Like an MC battle. A battle is when two people go at it in sport. And may the best man win. And when it's done, you shake hands and get a drink. There ain't no beef during or after a battle. Beef is when you need two gatts to walk the streets. For example my buddy kept trash talking and telling me to put $20 down every time we played goldeneye. I didn't want to at first so I was chill with it. But after the 8th time I decided that I'm going to have to get good enough to beat him every time until he never plays the game again. And obviously talk shit the entire time. Then afterward I'll buy him a drink with the money he just gave me. And there will be no hard feelings. So yes, I apologize for going so hard at Killermonkey. I just have multiple battles coming up (GE64 then rhyme battle.. Hair red like tobasco. Rhymes hotter than peppers in your asshole) so I'm in that mode right now. Sorry.

then welcome to the forum. it´s a nice place to live 8)

For the record: bluemeanie, I like your style. If you ever do get a good computer come back so we can go 1v1 on GoldenEye: Source. I am not too interested in GE 64 online unfortunately.
