Post by: Mark [lodle] on September 07, 2010, 05:50:56 am
Just brought a new computer for work: Mac Pro 6 core 3.3ghz with 12 gb of ram.

This thing is fuckn fast and also is so quiet that i can sleep with it on (and i need silence to sleep). Should be good once i get it all setup. :P

I can't think of many applications bessie compiling where 12 cores would work together well. You seriously blew past the decency line with this computer. let me guess you run visual studio in an emulator or dual boot? Which version of windows?

Compiling chrome for work use to take about a hour but now it can do 12 projects at a time (total of 80) and only takes 5 mins. :P

But i also run vm's for work and do video compressing and other stuff at the same time.

If I'd spend $4.500 on apple products - that'd be about 2.250 kilo of apples, how could I possibly eat them all before they start to rot? ;-)

Hah, beats the old ATI Radeon 9800 Pro by a looong shot. I'll buy it when it goes to maybe a tenth of that crazy $3,500 price tag.
