When I open Steam on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit tab (Added that since it might be helpful), it opens a new Steam window and shows up the icon of GE:S on the new window or tab if you want to call it that.
 Here's an example:

Is there a way to work around this? Thanks

				der.  whats the problem?

-
Isn't that because it's not a Steam document? I'm not familiar with Win7 but I don't see any reason why it would do what you believe it should.

-
Yeah HL2.exe isn't Steam.exe so will be a different tab. No known way to keep it with steam, nor see there being one.

This is like asking why Word and Powerpoint are two separate tabs. Both are Microsoft Office products??

 Sorry for being so blunt.

He doesn't mean when he runs the mod he means steam.
 I had a similar problem.

 Quit steam
Delete your GES shortcuts and the steam shortcut on taskbar
Start steam then "pin to taskbar"
 It should be ok now.

Any idea how to get icons back for mods?  Al my mods have no icons.

It's the new steam GUI. Sadly Valve is breaking their own stuff once in a while.
I hope they'll bring back icons for mods soon.
Otherwise, they would disapoint the whole modding community.

There is a steam beta that supports 16x16 icons so now we see our icons and they also added support for 32x32 icons for the "detail" view oft he games but they still donot support the "Grid" view yet.
